The story behind the work
There was a woman who spent much of her life watching the world move around her. She watched others arrive before her, bloom before her, achieve things she had once imagined for herself. And sometimes, quietly, she wondered if she was falling behind. But life was never asking her to race, it was teaching her to wait, to grow in the quiet seasons, & to become softer without becoming weaker. To discover herself without needing the world’s permission. To understand that some things cannot be rushed without losing the beauty they were meant to carry. Like a flower that opens only when it is ready, she began to understand that her becoming had its own rhythm. Then one day, she stopped asking, “Why haven't I arrived yet?” And began asking, “What if I am exactly where I need to be?” That was when she found her freedom. Àsìkò means time, but for her, it became something deeper. It became a reminder that there is a time for becoming, a time for blooming, a time for being seen, and a time for becoming the woman she was always meant to be. She doesn't need to hurry anymore, she doesn't need to compare her chapter to someone else's. She simply stands beautifully, boldly, and unapologetically in her own season. Because what is meant for her will meet her in ÀSÌKÒ, In her own time.

My art is an expression of my world.
Process
Through painting, mixed media and other creative forms, I explore colour, details, shapes, patterns, people and everyday experiences, transforming them into works that communicate emotion, identity, culture and perspective.
