The Story Behind the Artwork
A painting starts in a room, not in a statement. Looking comes first. The title comes last.

Every piece begins with observation — the colours, people, patterns and ordinary hours that surround a life in Lagos.
I do not start with a thesis. I start with a room, a face, the way someone waits. The economy leaves marks on how people sit, how they dress, how long a chair stays empty. That is as much a subject as light.
African culture, in this work, is not a pattern to apply at the end. It is the world I come from and the world I still live in. Colour is a language I trust more than explanation.
The studio is where those observations are practiced until they become a painting. The originals stay one of one. If a work is not priced, it is because the conversation comes first.
See the paintings, or read how the same looking becomes a class.
